The scousers are spending!

As the nights draw in, the temperatures drop and the first flakes of snow arrive (honestly on the M62 this morning!) our thought turn towards Christmas and what presents to buy family and friends. Whilst many of us will sit at home on our pc’s (or is it ipads these days?) shopping at Amazon and Ebay many will be treading the pavements of Liverpool One searching for those ideal gifts.

With the ever increasing gloom of Europe hanging over us many commentators would anticipate a drop off in shoppers as fear restrains what we spend. A quick visit to Liverpool One this week would suggest that if anything the opposite was happening. It was rammed full of both local and overseas shoppers spending their well earned cash on clothes,  jewellery, lego advent calendars and the latest iphones/ipads. It will be interesting to see  what the official spending/visitor levels are like but don’t be surprised that they exceed last year and cement the city’s retail offering as one of the best in the country.
